Convert text to graphics in PowerPoint 2007 presentations

To get started:

1. Open your PowerPoint presentation and click the text box in the slide that contains the information you want to convert into a graphic. (Figure 1)

2. On the Home tab, in the Paragraph group, click Convert to SmartArt Graphic.

3. In the gallery (Figure 2), click the layout for the SmartArt graphic that you want. The gallery contains layouts for SmartArt graphics that work best with bulleted lists. To view the entire set of layouts, click More SmartArt graphics.

4. Click the layout you want for a SmartArt graphic. The text in your slides is automatically placed in shapes and arranged based on the layout you chose. You can easily make changes to your new SmartArt graphic.

To change colours, click the box containing the graphic and then, under the Design tabs, select the Change Colours button.

To change the style of your graphic such as adding a line style, bevel, or 3D appearance (Figure 3), select one of the SmartArt Styles, also found under the Design tab.
