Use conditional formatting to add meaning to your data
Duration: (3m:55s)
Conditional formatting makes it easy to identify ‘hotspots’ in your spreadsheets - whether you’re looking for over-spend or under-spend, or even just where your money is going each month. Rows and rows of figures are not generally easy to read. But by using conditional formatting - perhaps a ‘traffic-light’ format, or data bar, or just a red to green colour scale, you can see at a glance where your potential problem areas lie. Data analysis becomes much easier in Excel 2007 as well, because you can convert your spreadsheets into tables and then carry out more in-depth research.
