* For further information about the Windows 7 Upgrade Option, please see the FAQ. Here are the essential details: Delivery of Windows 7 product will vary by offer and location, but the earliest you could expect to receive it would be at the time of Windows 7 general availability, October 22, 2009. There are two ways in which you may be eligible to receive Windows 7 under this program. They are: (1) When you purchase a qualifying PC with Windows Vista, as determined by each participating PC manufacturer, from a retailer or directly from the PC manufacturer or (2) when you purchase a qualifying retail packaged Windows Vista product from your favorite retailer. The Windows 7 Upgrade Option applies to Windows Vista Home Premium, Business, and Ultimate editions. Your Windows 7 product will be the comparable version of what you purchased for Windows Vista: so you'll get Windows 7 Home Premium, Windows 7 Professional, or Windows 7 Ultimate, respectively. The Windows 7 Upgrade Option program runs from June 26, 2009 through January 31, 2010. However, individual PC manufacturers may choose to offer the option for a shorter period on their PCs. Offer details, prices, and delivery methods will vary. For details for new PC purchases, please check the manufacturer's website. For purchases of retail packaged software, please go to the Microsoft Windows 7 Upgrade Option fulfillment site for retail packaged software.
On 22 October, 2009, consumers in Europe will be able to buy the same version of Windows 7 as consumers will around the world. It will include Windows Internet Explorer 8 to help them get the most out of their PCs and the Internet.
