Everyday tasks made easier
With Internet Explorer 7, you can browse the web more easily with improvements to everyday online tasks such as printing, searching, organizing, and accessing information. Click below for details.
Go from one site to another in one window using the tabs at the top of the browser frame. Or, see all sites in thumbnail views on a single page. You can also group tabs and save them as Favorites. To add a new tab, press Ctrl T.
Instant Search Box
The Instant Search Box in the upper right hand corner enables you to search the web without navigating to a search provider website. You can set your default search provider and add more providers from the Find More Providers menu option.
Advanced printing
When you print, web pages automatically shrink to fit the first time, saving you time and paper. You can also use the down arrow next to the printer and click Print Preview to see and adjust your page before it prints.
RSS feeds
Now as part of your Favorites Center, RSS (Really Simple Syndication) feeds are a way to find out when websites have new content.
Some web publishers use RSS to create and distribute feeds
that include links, headlines, and summaries of updated information on their website. With an RSS reader, you can have personalized sports, news, or shopping delivered directly to you. You can use the RSS reader to subscribe to as many feeds as you like—just look for the RSS button to light up to let you know there is a feed available to subscribe to.
Then, as sites are updated, you'll automatically get the feeds, which you can view using the RSS Reader. This means you can keep up with new information on your favorite websites in one place, rather than having to visit each site individually.
Add-ons
Add-ons are optional software applications that let you customize your browser and increase functionality for the best possible experience. To learn more and get add-ons, click Tools > Manage Add-ons > Find More Add-ons.
