Stay in Touch
Windows Vista and Windows Live include new features and services to help you stay in touch with your friends, family, and colleagues. From a built-in e-mail program in Windows Vista to enhanced instant messaging with Windows Live, you have more ways to communicate.
If you want to send and receive e-mail, you can use Windows Mail, which comes with Windows Vista. The Windows Mail Instant Search feature includes targeted search capabilities that enable you to search all of your e-mail messages. You won't have to spend time organizing messages into folders so that can find them later. Windows Mail also helps protect you from spam and phishing attacks that can lead to identity theft. If you want a complete system for managing your time and information, you can add Microsoft Office Outlook 2007, which works with Windows Vista.

If you want to send and receive instant text messages, or talk with friends in real time using PC-to-PC calling, you can use many of the instant messaging programs that are compatible with Windows Vista. One such program is Windows Live Messenger, a new version of MSN Messenger.

Windows Live Messenger gives you several options for communicating with friends and colleagues.
Do you need to tell a friend something that's better said face to face, or do you just want to hear his or her voice? With a webcam, clear full-motion video* is easy to start, and at no cost. And with the new Windows Live Call features*, you can make a free call from your computer to the computer of any of your online contacts - worldwide. It's easy to call your contacts' wireless or landline phones** too, at rates far lower than you'd pay using an ordinary phone - especially for long-distance calls.
And if you'd like to have a single place where you and your friends can share files, pictures, and video clips, the new Sharing Folders feature in Windows Live Messenger gives you an easy way to set up a shared collection of files.
If you want to collaborate with multiple people with mobile PCs, you can use Windows Meeting Space. Windows Vista can help you connect two or more mobile PCs wirelessly. Then you and your friends or business associates can use Windows Meeting Space to view each other's screens, share files, and pass notes.

Windows Meeting Space connects mobile PCs together, making it easy to collaborate with others on projects.
Windows Vista and the devices and applications that bear the "Works with Windows Vista" or "Certified for Windows Vista" logos make it easy for you to get connected and start communicating.
