Kisik Aerial Survey Upgrades to UltraCamX
Graz, Austria — January 11, 2011 — Kisik Aerial Survey Inc. has contracted with Vexcel Imaging GmbH, a Microsoft® company, to upgrade an UltraCamL camera to an UltraCamX system.
"The UltraCamX will allow us to better serve our customers who require cost-effective data collection over large areas,” stated Mr. Bill Lakeland, General Manager of Kisik Aerial Survey Inc. “We also believe that doing business with a progressive organization like Microsoft will support our company’s further success and growth."
The UltraCamX will be used to complete government, engineering, forestry, oil and gas, mapping and environmental projects. The camera’s wide footprint and significant storage capabilities allow for uninterrupted collection of larger areas of interest.
“We are pleased that Kisik Aerial Survey has decided to upgrade to an UltraCamX,” said Alexander Wiechert, Business Director of Microsoft and Managing Director for Vexcel Imaging GmbH. “It is an excellent choice for a company that desires efficient collection over expanded coverage areas.”
About the UltraCamX
The UltraCamX collects 136 megapixels per trigger to produce 14,430 across track and 9,420 along track pixels, with a sustained collection rate of three gigabits per second. The camera maintains forward overlap of 70% at 3 cm pixels and 80% overlap at 5 cm pixels feasible at normal flying speeds. Meanwhile, the UltraCamX system features a data flow that allows extensive image collection in the air. Low-cost, exchangeable data storage devices store up to 4,700 images each and can be swapped mid-flight for reduced ground turnover time.
