Microsoft’s Vexcel Imaging GmbH Transitions Scanner Business to GeoToolBox Ibérica S.L

Graz, Austria — Microsoft’s photogrammetry division, Vexcel Imaging GmbH, today announced the appointment of longstanding business partner, GeoToolBox Ibérica S.L. (GTBi) as the primary point of contact for all aspects of the Vexcel Imaging scanner business, including sales, support, maintenance and repair. The UltraScan5000™ is Vexcel Imaging’s precision photogrammetric scanner, the flagship legacy product of the company’s scanner business, that was introduced in 1998. Since that time, the scanner has been widely adopted and continues to boast a worldwide user base.

“To meet the growing demands of our successful digital camera business,” said Alexander Wiechert, Business Director of Microsoft and Managing Director for Vexcel Imaging GmbH, “we now find it necessary to focus entirely on this part of our operations, requiring a change to how we manage operations of our scanner business. Based in Madrid, GTBi has been serving Spain, Portugal and all of Latin America since 1999, providing photogrammetric solutions including Vexcel Imaging’s UltraCam digital aerial cameras and the UltraScan line of scanners. This experience with Vexcel Imaging photogrammetric offerings, along with the technical expertise of its staff, were among the primary reasons GTBi was selected by Vexcel Imaging to now manage the scanner business operations.

Existing maintenance contracts will continue to be supported by Vexcel until expiration.
