Microsoft’s Vexcel Imaging GmbH Announces Sale of UltraCamXp to Eurosense
Graz, Austria — Microsoft’s Photogrammetry Division, Vexcel Imaging GmbH, recently signed a purchase agreement with Eurosense, one of the largest privately owned aerial survey companies in Europe, for delivery of an UltraCamXp large format digital aerial mapping camera. With this purchase, Eurosense now operates three UltraCam systems, given that the company already owned two UltraCamX systems prior to this latest system acquisition.
“Our past experience with the UltraCam system, and its outstanding price performance ratio, facilitated the selection of the UltraCamXp for an additional camera to meet our growing mapping business,” said Emile Maes, President of Eurosense.
With previous mapping projects that provided full coverage of the Netherlands in 1996, 2000, 2003, and 2006, EUROSENSE is again capturing complete imagery of the Netherlands, including 10 km border in Belgium and Germany. The project will use the UltraCam system to acquire the imagery at a ground resolution of 25cm. Furthermore, EUROSENSE is using the UltraCam system at different resolutions in many other projects, in several other countries, such as update of LPIS in Romania and Poland.
“Vexcel Imaging congratulates and thanks Eurosense for this latest UltraCam purchase,” remarked Alexander Wiechert, Business Director of Microsoft and Managing Director for Vexcel Imaging GmbH. “The selection of a third UltraCam by Eurosense, and for such a large and significant project, speaks volumes to the reliability and capabilities of the UltraCam.”
