Microsoft Student Innovation Suite

Educating the next generation

There is a digital divide in emerging segments that leaves many students behind in developing essential twenty-first-century skills. Governments have expressed interest in purchasing affordable and reliable Windows-based computers and then giving them to students. This requires updated Microsoft software that can run and deliver educational value on entry-level computers. The affordable Microsoft Student Innovation Suite addresses this need and is exclusively available to governments that provide computers to primary and secondary students for personal use at home and for their schoolwork.

Tailored for students

The Microsoft Student Innovation Suite includes familiar Microsoft software created to help build a strong and well-rounded student skill set:

  • Windows XP Starter Edition operating system—Incorporates the basic features a beginning user needs with a specialized version of the Windows operating system.
  • Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007—Helps students create great-looking documents, spreadsheets, and presentations, and helps them manage their notes.
  • Microsoft Math 3.0—A collection of math tools, tutorials, and instructions designed to help students learn how to solve equations, step by step, while gaining a better understanding of fundamental concepts in prealgebra, algebra, trigonometry, physics, chemistry, and calculus.
  • Learning Essentials 2.0 for Microsoft Office—Working with Microsoft Office Word, the PowerPoint presentation graphics program, and Excel spreadsheet software, Learning Essentials helps students achieve better grades. Step-by-step writing tips and preformatted report and presentation templates give students a quick start in creating great-looking reports and presentations.
  • Windows Live Mail desktop—A simple, powerful tool that lets students get e-mail from multiple accounts in one place.

As a part of Microsoft Unlimited Potential, and as an extension of the Microsoft Partners in Learning program (PiL), we are offering software licenses for the Microsoft Student Innovation Suite at a special discounted rate exclusively for governments wishing to provide computers to students, and subject to specific conditions.
