When printed, it doesn't fill the page, leaves a white border when framed, and just looks cheap. The colors, yellow for the MCTS and orange for the SA/ES are quite hideous also!
In order to achieve certification, we spent money on MS training kits and the exams themselves. We will also push a lot of Microsoft products at our companies. Certified TS's and ITP's GENERATE REVENUE FOR MICROSOFT! The least you guys can do is pony up a few bucks - and that's all it is - and give us proper certificates & wallet cards.
Your decision had nothing to do with "going green", which is a load of bunk anyway, but that's another story. It was a poorly thought out decision. Recognize the error and reverse it please.

Its absolutely wrong decision to not send a welcome kit and ID cards. I finished my MCTS, MCTIP Enterprise administrator and next thinking about Exchange server 2007.
If you people stop this due to money .Then it’s not a good deal because in that case you will safe money but also Microsoft is losing image .I know you people will not notice it. But Microsoft have to notice it many many student are angry after it. it look like bad sound please take action.
Thanks.

thanks..
today i have pass my MCSE EXAM and i feel so happy because be a part of MICROSOFT.....
I too find it a shame they do not send out the paper versions of the certificates we earned.
A lot of companies want to see the paper versions.
And we have the transcript to prove our abilities, we do not need a "paper", and that everything is nice and gratifying to have one of these at home, but we should think more about the environment.
Yes, having access to both would have really helped and an option could be provided to those who(Which I believe would be narrowed to none!) agree with the MS regarding the greenary concept and prefer to have only digital copy. But for others like me Please issue SOLID Certs as usual for free!!!
Please provide certificates in both the format ie . digital / paper
I feel very nice , just yesterday has completed MCTS exam.

Vijay
good to be pass exam and being MCTS
Congratulation on clearing the MCTS exam on SQL Server 2008. Could you please share how you proceed for the exam, i mean, books/references/training materials, etc...?
It will be nice if you can share with the community...
Thanks in advance.
What if i do not want to use "plastic money" at all and in this way people are forced to get one
And if i get one why i can't pay in Euros?
Why am i forced to use only specific ways to pay?
I think that the "enviromental protection" is not a good excuse at all.
I think that printed certified is not important, because you can tell to your employer that can access to all your certifications, through the microsoft transcript. And the most important of all is that thanks to a certification you have the skills to do the job. Also as Michael Jackson said, heal the world.
Good Luck dear friends.

I feel it doesn't matter if I print the certificate or recieve it in the mail, but I would like to still recieve the MCP business card for my wallet as proof to show what I'm certified in. I recieved my first certificate through the mail and 2nd I printed. I agree if we aren't recieving the same items than Microsoft should lower the cost for exams and prep books. If you plan on buying the prep book $125exam + $65book = $190, I think MS can afford to send us our certs?
Just found out today that microsoft will charge another $10 to send over the physical copy of the certificates... I dont think that there was any call to do that... Not that the quality of the certificates was aces in the first place, it seems microsoft itself is not really concerned about that effort, time and money a person puts in for a certification exam.
Also, I fail to understand why they are separating the concept of exam and result... As a person who is investing in these microsoft exams, I would like to be able to showcase my achievements in any way possible and original(physical) certificates are by far the best way of doing so.
'Wonder what these guys will think of next....maybe they will come up with additional fees for certifications to be deemed valid in each continent / country... Ooops ... 'hope I didnt just give them another idea...
As for Digital Certificates, I too think that the digital certificates must be as an option and also we need to get the certificate on paper.
Certifications are expensive enough to keep that.
Or maybe Microsoft should lower the exam fees...
