hi i want to know what will i get after completing the MCITP certification i have seen that my friend has written the CCNA certification and they provided him the ID card with a photo as a proof but i came to know that you have stopped sending the ID card or other certificates then how can we show to the interviewers that i am Microsoft certified professional. If i show the printed copy of the digital certificate which you provided in the mcp member site then they will beleive it. Because i am new to the job search as i am fresher.
Please please please help me in this regard and provide me the proper solution.
I am eagerly waiting for your reply.
Thank you.

I became MCP since 2005 when I came out from college fresh graduate. The certification helped me to be selected in one of local bank from my compatriots. Now I achieved MCTS in Windows Server 2008 and I'm sure it will help me achieve a better opportunity

I am a bit upset with MS because they stopped providing the wallet card which I fould the easiest way to identify yourself infront of the crowd. Just by showing yr wallet card poeple will know who you are and they will give you what your're worth of.

Yea Microsoft ,thanks for your support and help to us all , but like my friends said on here we need the hard copy please you must let us get the real hard certificate copy not just a paper, cause with the hardcopy finding job seems easy and real to the companies but with this paper its nothing,so please we plead with you because without you we are nothing and without us you are nothing so we are all for each other ....50/50
THANKS

I don't see the point. If you need a paper copy (what for? to put it on your desk?) than go and print it.

Although I love Microsoft interest in helping the world to go green thereby helping to save our planet but this should be done without sacrificing our own career. This change is too violent and it's dangerous. The digital & paper copy should have been allowed to go side by side for a number of years when massive advocacy must have been carried out before eradicating the latter. Then our society which value paper certificate would have become used to the transition. Please reconsider your decision & make it transitory. In Nigeria here, the paper is essential. Thanks.

Hi I am MCP with three exam pass and one to become a MCSA, the ideal of a digital certs is much of a problem to me, especially where I come from(Africa-Ghana) where Hard copy certs is what gets prime importances, Please MS can you look again at your decision again, we are all for you, You are our Lifeline to our Deadlines, Yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The idea of printing the certificate that was adopted by Microsoft, has a goal of reducing costs and reduce forest clearing, with that whole environment wins and we won.
And we have the transcript to prove our abilities, we do not need a "paper", and that everything is nice and gratifying to have one of these at home, but we should think more about the environment.

In this part of the world (Africa),beside the fact that employers investigate results, they also want to see the original copy of your certifition, so i support the idea of both hard and soft copy.
KSPS (58 days ago)

Its a pleasure to be called a certified professional. But what do you think about just a downloadable copy of the cert? Well I guess MS should think uver again about the issue. I guess this is the first company(to my knowledge) that says certs are being handed digitally to keep the world green and yet let people buy them for a so called mere $10.
Yes, having access to both would have really helped and an option could be provided to those who(Which I believe would be narrowed to none!) agree with the MS regarding the greenary concept and prefer to have only digital copy. But for others like me Please issue SOLID Certs as usual for free!!!

i think it's a great idea if we have both digital and hard copy certificates the lapel pin which was removed would have made a diffrence for a garthering of proffesionals removin the hard copy will be an over kill

paper certificates should be the default option
Pablo Amman (60 days ago)

Changing the certificates to digital only copies, with all due respect, has got to be the most ridiculous idea I have ever heard of. Why? Because you claim that the purpose is to go green, although you still send out copies but only to those who pay an extra 10$. You could easily add an option saying "I do not wish to receive a paper certificate" for those interested. Microsoft is losing and will lose thousands of certificate seekers to other firms dealing with similar certification programs. What will happen now is that microsoft will raise all exam prices by 10$ for the new year, then say that DUE TO DEAR CUSTOMER REQUESTS, we will send hard copies for free.
barry frm nigeria (61 days ago)

The idea of transitioning ms certificates to digital is an innovation but it does not meet the standard of employers because they wants to see a hard and original copy of the certicate which is very important i oppose the idea except there will be hard and digital copy. i have written mcp, mcsa wats the next best to get mcse

What about the guys that don't have an American Express, MasterCard or Visa credit card?
What if i do not want to use "plastic money" at all and in this way people are forced to get one
And if i get one why i can't pay in Euros?
Why am i forced to use only specific ways to pay?
I think that the "enviromental protection" is not a good excuse at all.
nutrino (90 days ago)

I think i prefer the good old days when we use to have our certs shipped to us. :-(. Digital certificates a bad makeshift that is  best left as a value added option for all MCPs to enjoy, as suggested by the majority. or isn't the MCP society democratic?

Hello to everyone, I just passed my mcts in 2008 server configuration, I'm very proud to belong to the microsoft comunity.
I think that printed certified is not important, because you can tell to your employer that can access to all your certifications, through the microsoft transcript. And the most important of all is that thanks to a certification you have the skills to do the job. Also as Michael Jackson said, heal the world.

Does it matter, $125 is that bad? Let's talk about CompTIA or Cisco, which is much more... How can anyone complain, print your transcript, it's the same thing, a piece of paper.
Magwelegwele (99 days ago)

Is microsoft loosing business to come up with this adea of not posting certificate? who ever came ip with this decision, he/she must go back to the drawing board and change that idea. Digitalising must be an option not a must. We need our certificates (original hard copy). is Bill Gates broke? Big no to that idea. Forward our certificate instead of viewing. We paid for exams, we must also pay for certificate, it doesn't make sense. Why can't microsoft charge the price of writing icluding posting price. Someone is loosing it...

Why use green to chase save your company cost. I think give us a cert for proven we got it, is normal. Also  When change digital cert, no announcement for public, still have many HR said, "Oh no cert, digital, are u kidding". Please send us back the cert or just still keep that we have choice to choose get what format we want.

NewMCP
I feel it doesn't matter if I print the certificate or recieve it in the mail, but I would like to still recieve the MCP business card for my wallet as proof to show what I'm certified in. I recieved my first certificate through the mail and 2nd I printed. I agree if we aren't recieving the same items than Microsoft should lower the cost for exams and prep books. If you plan on buying the prep book $125exam + $65book = $190, I think MS can afford to send us our certs?
Micah Henning (108 days ago)

Indeed, Microsoft should give us the option to download digital certificates.  However, I pay $125 per exam _out of pocket_.  That is a lot of money, especially in these hard times.  Microsoft should send out physical copies of our certifications *free of charge* because of our investment in their company and certification structure.  We help produce a steady income for them so they should help us in return!  Give us something more than a cheap paper certification, especially for big certs like MCSA and MCSE!
viren (108 days ago)

can any one let me know from when microsoft started collecting money for delivering hard copy of certificate? bcz i got my certificate in the month of april, & one of my friend compleeted MCP in last month now he want certificate is that now he has to pay & order the copy?

I do agree that there should be a physical copy of the Original certificate. Nobody will trust us if just give the print out of the certificate we have

Ravi (119 days ago)

Hi all,
Just found out today that microsoft will charge another $10 to send over the physical copy of the certificates... I dont think that there was any call to do that... Not that the quality of the certificates was aces in the first place, it seems microsoft itself is not really concerned about that effort, time and money a person puts in for a certification exam.
Also, I fail to understand why they are separating the concept of exam and result... As a person who is investing in these microsoft exams, I would like to be able to showcase my achievements in any way possible and original(physical) certificates are by far the best way of doing so.
'Wonder what these guys will think of next....maybe they will come up with additional fees for certifications to be deemed valid in each continent / country... Ooops ... 'hope I didnt just give them another idea...
Pradeep Reddy (119 days ago)

hmm .... I have just yesterday passed my MCTS certification in Server 2008 configuration.
As for Digital Certificates, I too think that the digital certificates must be as an option and also we need to get the certificate on paper.
superjoe (121 days ago)

As the other guys, I prefer receiving my certificates in paper format...
Certifications are expensive enough to keep that.
Or maybe Microsoft should lower the exam fees...
Ram (121 days ago)

I Agree with the above dude...Microsoft is going thru a lean patch in development due to recession but its also doing good business selling XBOX360"S n Zune"s other hardware...it doesn"t make any sense changing certificate to digital when we are paying for certifications and i wudn"t feel good recieving  a digital format copy...Moreover the current quality of certificates microsoft shipps is very poor and i recieved a certificate which almost got screwed in shipping..thnaks to GATI...seriously think Microsoft should stop thinking digital but go ahead and make the certificate quality much better and am sure with the kind of passion people have for microsoft certs lot of people will look forward for it certs..Microsoft needs think about it!
abozakaria (121 days ago)

the value is to receive the certificate as hard copy and the ID from Microsoft. and it's very good option to print them from your own site.

certificates are identity of an individual,so therefore provide both ie., digital and the printed certificate.
Muted Scream (126 days ago)

Yep, I second that. seems Redmond's trying to save cost but if that's the case, there's something called trickle down economics. It doesn't hurt 1 bit to cut down on the cost of an MS cert or am I stepping on sore toes& getting blank stares?
ADL (126 days ago)

Why change certificate to digital format?  We put high emphasis on our Microsoft Certification, spending our wealth, time, and energy, but transitioning the actual certificate to digital format loses the value of the effort we put in it.  Not to mention that we paid for the exams to get certified.  Certificate is a proof, but where's the value of it if we can just print it out on our own? shouldn't you make the digital format only as an option instead?
