This demo gives an overview of the various virtualization solutions available from Microsoft. The topics covered include Server Virtualization and Management, Physical and Virtual Management, and Desktop Virtualization technologies.
Hyper-V Server and Live Migration DemoThis demo provides a look at Microsoft Hyper-V Server 2008, the stand-alone product that is designed to provide a reliable and optimized virtualization solution to help improve server utilization and reduce costs, and the new Live Migration feature, which provides fault tolerant virtual machines with no downtime when failing over to other clustered hosts.
Microsoft Virtual Machine Manager DemoThis demo provides an overview of Microsoft System Center Virtual Machine Manager 2008. The features covered include management of Hyper-V Servers, VMware Servers, and the integration of Virtual Machine Manager and System Center Operations Manager 2007.
Virtual Desktop Overview DemoFind out how Microsoft technologies and licensing can bring all the power and benefits of virtualization to your infrastructure.
Remote Workforce DemoThis demo illustrates how the collection of tools and technologies in the Windows Presentation Virtualization scenario enable companies to deploy and manage remote workforces. The demo contains demonstrations of TS Gateway for internal desktop and application access, TS Web Access as an internal application portal functioning on top of TS Gateway, and TS RemoteApp.
Licensing Microsoft products for a virtual computing environment is essentially the same as it is for a physical environment. You can apply the same Microsoft licensing models, for instance, server and Client Access Licenses (CAL) licensing, to your virtual environment.
Microsoft customers can also benefit from unique license rights for server virtualization products. These rights are designed to help you take advantage of existing and future virtualization technologies.
Microsoft’s new server-based virtualization licensing offers enhanced flexibility and value:
Create and store an unlimited number of instances, and pay only for the maximum number of running instances at any given time.
Move active instances from one licensed server to another licensed server without limitation, with no added costs or administrative overhead.
With Microsoft Server products that are currently licensed by processor, such as Microsoft SQL Server, you can run multiple virtual instances (VMs) on a machine, licensing each instance by the number of virtual processors being used.
