EMC and Microsoft: Delivering Data Protection and Disaster Recovery for Virtual Infrastructure

EMC data disaster recovery solutions for Microsoft Virtual Infrastructure help you build a resilient, virtual infrastructure that leverages the benefits of both Microsoft virtualization and EMC data replication. With EMC Disaster Recovery for Microsoft solutions, you can avoid costly outages and recover from unplanned disasters in minutes or hours instead of days.

EMC RecoverPoint integrates with Microsoft failover clustering to provide rapid restart and automatic failover in the event of a site outage. RecoverPoint supports a range of storage arrays, and arrays do not have to be identical between sites helping customers to right-size their implementation or use existing equipment. Microsoft and EMC are currently partnering in the EMC Innovation Center to deliver an architecture for Hyper-V site recovery solution based on the EMC CLARiiON CX4. The solution is being tested by EMC Global Solutions using a mix of fixed LUNs and thin provisioning.

Hyper-V Backup and Recovery with EMC NetWorker
EMC NetWorker simplifies, automates, and accelerates backup and recovery across diverse IT environments. For Hyper-V, NetWorker enables both traditional and advanced protection of virtual servers. Users can easily protect and recover virtual guests as well as complete Hyper-V systems. In conjunction with Volume Shadow Copy Services (VSS) NetWorker delivers off-host, LAN-free, non-disruptive backup including consistent protection of Hyper-V configuration databases. Rapid recovery from persistent VSS snapshots or from secondary copies on disk or tape ensures virtual systems are up, running, available and ready to serve your business.
