Tri-Center Community Schools
Tri-Center Community Schools in Iowa sought to improve students' education through a more robust technology infrastructure. Tri-Center's server room was hot, cluttered, outdated, and difficult to manage. Working with Microsoft Gold Certified Partner Heartland Technology Solutions, the school district upgraded its hardware to modern Hewlett-Packard BladeSystem G6 servers. The school district also deployed the Windows Server 2008 R2 operating system to take advantage of the virtualization capabilities provided by Hyper-V technology. Tri-Center Community Schools expects that virtualization will save money by reducing hardware costs and management overhead, while increasing flexibility, accessibility, mobility, and system performance. With Microsoft System Center Data Protection Manager, school IT staff have cut backup times from up to 16 hours down to mere moments.
