With Gallery you can easily create and maintain albums of photos via an intuitive interface. Photo management includes automatic thumbnail creation, image resizing, rotation, ordering, captioning, searching and more. Albums and photos can have view, edit, delete and other permissions per individual authenticated user for an additional level of privacy. It's great for communities - give accounts to your friends and family and let them upload and manage their own photos on your website!

By looking at these apps, not sure how do they get through Microsoft door to get publishing on this website. Not even has a professional look nor easy setup nor even something i can consider good about this free stuff.

Rubbish. Installed all the peripheral stuff first, then told me it had a 301 error on sourceforge when downloading the actual Gallery zip file.

The application is "bloated" (over 16mb) and if you run on windows a "dead end". V3.0 of Gallery is not supported on IIS or SQL Server. There is also no current migration path from V2 to V3. I am also not a fan of needing to dig up various public domain applications in order to enable various features such as image editing. You are better off just installing Paint.Net for that then uploading the photos to a friendlier application.

Gallery 2 is a great tool for sharing images from your own site!
