DDC is almost here! Registration ends September 25. New information about conference sessions has been added so that you can see what's available to you at DDC this year. For a closer look at the DDC schedule, download the detailed agenda. ContentWe have added a schedule grid to our Web site and posted session descriptions and titles that you can add to your Outlook calendar in order to build your own schedule for what you want to attend. Some highlights for the conference include question and answer sessions from Steven Sinofsky and Mark Russinovich, a unique opportunity to experience a two hour insider view of WDF from the product team ("Shared Secrets about WDF" parts 1 and 2), architecture reviews and insight into how to create new storage devices ("Enhanced Storage Architecture"), information about updates in NDIS ("NDIS 6.20 Overview"), guidance about using the Windows Sideshow driver architecture to create products ("Windows Sideshow: Building Low-Cost Devices"), enhancements to the USB stack ("USB in Windows 7 and Beyond") and some new community-oriented panels where we will listen to what you have to say about driver development and the logo program for wired USB. In short, the conference is packed with deep technical sessions and chalk talks. We just need you there to make it great. DDC Expert Desk and Kernel KornerAlthough we are planning an "Ask the Experts" event on Tuesday evening, DDC experts will be available for 1:1 meetings throughout the conference. The Kernel Korner will be staffed with Microsoft experts in various areas according to the posted schedule. The DDC Expert Desk will be available to help you find an expert to answer specific questions you may have, by someone who may be at the event or may be in the product teams. We will do our best to find an expert to help you. Conference OverviewDDC is the primary vehicle designed to give expert driver developers deep, technical insight into the driver framework and tools for producing high-quality drivers and for Microsoft to gain insight and feedback about future directions for tools and driver models. The emphasis is on highly technical content (300 to 400 level) that is delivered by Microsoft experts through technical sessions, chalk-talks, and panel discussions, as well as ample opportunity for close interaction with Microsoft experts. For more details, see our "Agenda Preview" page. - Who should come: Advanced driver developers and testers only. The content will focus on 300- to 400-level driver development and testing. Beginning driver developers will find content that is more useful to them at WinHEC.
- What you will get: It's all about the content--deep technical content, hands-on technical labs spread across multiple tracks, close interaction with Microsoft driver developers and testers, and no keynote addresses. This event will focus on key operating system concepts and internals, device driver development, and technology-specific implementation and will include a preview of a limited set of Windows 7 advances that are relevant to driver developers.
- Technology Preview Agreement: Due to the confidential nature of this early preview content, the event will be held under TPA and all attendees will be required to sign the event-specific agreement pre-event even if their company already has a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) in place with Microsoft.
