Distributed Scan Management

Updated: September 17, 2009

Distributed Scan Management (DSM) is a new feature in Windows Server 2008 R2. Information technology administrators can use DSM to manage scanning services for organizations with many users. DSM makes it easy for enterprises to integrate scanners into their document workflow.

For additional documentation on DSM, see Distributed Scan Management (DSM) in the WDK.

The Windows Driver Kit (WDK) documentation provides programming information that scanner manufacturers will need in order to develop code to support DSM. For more information on DSM schemas, see Distributed Scan Management (DSM) Schemas in the WDK.
