Companies can now promote their Certified for Windows Vista and Works with Windows Vista products through Microsoft's partnership with the CNET Channel to syndicate and promote logo'd products to the e-tail industry. CNET Channel is the leading provider of product information to online retailers in North America, Western Europe, and Australia. A market-leading example of this partnership is the new Certified for Windows Vista Store This link leaves the Microsoft.com site on Amazon.com.

To ensure your products may be featured at top online retailers, please update your product submissions with Manufacturer Part numbers in the Windows Quality Online Services submission tool. Step-by-step instructions are provided in this download document.

If there are multiple marketing names or locales for your submission, you can expedite the process by preparing your information offline with the Manufacturer Part Number template available here and leveraging the Bulk Add feature in the submission tool.

Additional questions:

Q: What is a Manufacturer Part Number?

A: This is a standard Manufacturer ID that companies use to identify their products for retailers. For example, the MPN for Microsoft's Wireless Entertainment Desktop 8000 is X12-51037-02. If your company uses different manufacturer part numbers for different locales, please enter them in the additional fields provided on WinQual.

Q: Why should I fill this out?

A: The Manufacturer Partner Number enables Microsoft to clearly link product submissions to products available at retail. The MPN is also a more accurate method of matching data than utilizing product names, which can be prone to error from product name variations.

Q: What if my product doesn't have a manufacturer part number?

A: If your submission does not have a manufacturer part number, please leave the field blank. Once a part number has been assigned to your product, please go back into Winqual and update your product data.

Q: Can I update the information at a later date?

A: Yes, but it is highly recommended to update the information as soon as possible to ensure your company can take full advantage of the CNET Channel Logo Syndication Program.

Q: What if the logo does not appear on my product pages in e-tail?

A: Please submit a request to wlpfeed@microsoft.com including the request form, including your manufacturer part number, submission ID, and the e-tailer product page URL.

Q: Who do I contact if I need help?

A: Please contact: wlpfeed@microsoft.com

Q: How do I remove my product from the list?

A: Go to the appropriate product submission, under product details, press delete next to the incorrect manufacturer part number.
