This page provides information about Hardware Design Guide for Microsoft Windows 2000 Server. This series of server design guides (SDGs), co-authored by Intel Corporation and Microsoft Corporation, provides design guidelines for engineers who build server systems, expansion cards, and peripheral devices using the Microsoft Windows Server family of operating systems.

The server design guides describe features that the hardware industry should consider in designing servers and peripherals for various price and performance levels, resulting in the opitmal user experience for server systems running Windows 2000 and Windows Server 2003.

Hardware Design Guide Version 3.0 (SDG 3.0)

Intel and Microsoft worked with the industry to create Version 3.0 of Hardware Design Guide for Microsoft Windows 2000 Server (also commonly referred to as "Server Design Guide 3.0" or SDG 3.0). This new version includes design information related to 64-bit Windows, new technologies, and new features that will be supported in future versions of Windows 2000.
