Reminder: WLK 1.2 Submissions Required June 9, 2008
The Windows Logo Program would like to remind our partners that starting June 9, 2008 the Windows Quality Online Services (Winqual) Web site will only accept submissions that use Windows Logo Kit (WLK) 1.2. Beginning June 9, 2008, partners may not use previous WLK versions.
You can download WLK 1.2 from Microsoft Connect ( http://connect.microsoft.com) now. Highlights of WLK 1.2
[] WLK 1.2 synchronizes logo tests with the new logo requirements that take effect June 1, 2008 as part of the new Windows Logo Program (WLP) 2008.
[] WLK 1.2 includes the new Display Hybrid Graphics logo program and the new Server Virtualization Validation Program (SVVP).
[] WLK 1.2 further improves the quality of Driver Test Manager (DTM) and the quality of the logo tests. SVVP Submissions Begin June 13, 2008
Winqual will not accept any submission for the new SVVP program until June 13, 2008.
New Logo License Agreement 11.0 Now Available
The new Logo License Agreement 11.0 is now available for signing.
There are four changes from the previous Logo License Agreement.
[] We updated the definition of subsidiaries and the name of OEM licenses in the Definitions section to map to the latest OEM licenses.
[] We updated the logo artwork for the premium Windows Vista logos to reflect the new registered trademark symbol (®) after the flag.
[] We removed a duplicate reference to the Hardware Logo Program Requirements in Exhibit 2.
[] We updated the Test URL in Exhibit 2.
New Logo Artwork Available June 12, 2008
A new logo artwork package will be available for download from the Windows Quality Online Services (Winqual) Web site on June 12, 2008. We updated the new premium Windows Vista logo artwork in Logo License Agreement 11.0 to reflect the registration of the Windows flag logo. The next to the flag is now an ®. There is no specific time frame that partners must follow to convert from the flag to the ® flag. After using up all current inventory of the non-registered flag, partners are expected to produce the new artwork and use the new artwork on all future qualifying product packaging. Partners may continue to use the older artwork until inventory is depleted.
Test Topics in DTM Help Now Reflect Latest Changes
References to PREfast for Drivers Removed
Although the PRE fast for Drivers test is no longer a required logo test, it was still referenced in many of the test topics in the Driver Test Manager (DTM) Help files. These references have now been removed. Check Box Label Changed
When you use Device Console to configure the DTM test harness for a logo test that uses system-supplied drivers, you must select a check box. In previous versions of DTM Studio, the label for this check box was No INF File. The label has now been changed to I am not providing an INF or Driver Package. The latest DTM Help files now reflect this change.
The latest documentation update for the DTM is now available from the Microsoft Connect Web site ( http://connect.microsoft.com).
