Team Hosts Largest China Event Ever

Congratulations to our Windows Logo team in China, who recently hosted the largest Windows Logo Day event to date, on June 25 in the city of Shenzhen. Despite the challenge of an incoming typhoon, the team hosted over 130 local OEM and IHV partners. During this event, the team was pleased to announce the Chinese localized Windows Hardware ecosystem for the WHDC Web site and Windows Logo communities.

WLK QFE Now Available

QFE 003 for WLK 1.2 is now available at:
 http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/winlogo/WLK/WLKQFE12.mspx

This QFE addresses the following issues:
• Removes the IsVM/detectvm.exe test from the Windows Server 2008 Server System Logo test list.
• Places the IsVM/detectvm.exe test into the Windows Server 2008 Server Virtualization Validation test list.

We recommend that you immediately install this QFE on all DTM 1.2 controllers. The relevant errata for the Windows Server 2008 Server System test, 1283-1286, will be retired November 1, 2008. After this date, all Windows Server 2008 Server System and SVVP submissions must have this QFE installed.
WLK Version: v1.2 (1.2.6475.000). Do not attempt to install this QFE on any other controller build.

WHDC China Site Launches

We are excited to have the Microsoft team in China join the Windows Hardware Developer Central (WHDC) family, together with Japan and Taiwan. The recently launched WHDC China Web site provides our partners in China with 636 Web pages and downloadable content (277,000 words in total) that now are localized into Simplified Chinese. The WHDC China team looks forward to taking advantage of this site to better engage and partner with the thousands of IHVs in China to help extend and improve the Windows hardware ecosystem. Be sure to visit the site and check back often for news and updates.
