Changes to the TCG and TPM Tests in the Windows Logo Kit version 1.1
In the Windows Logo Kit (WLK) version 1.0c, improvements were made to the Trusted Computer Group (TCG) Trusted Platform Module (TPM) Integration Test. The changes included tasks that restarted the system under test and had the operator confirm the physical presence operation request in the BIOS. Thus, the TCG physical presence interface was tested end to end. The version of the test that shipped with WLK 1.0c had a bug that caused test failures not to register, which resulted in the test passing when it should have failed. This bug has been fixed in WLK version 1.1. You should consult your existing WLK version 1.0c logs for PPI task failures by using the Driver Test Manager Log Viewer to examine each task log file individually. In the WLK version 1.1, the failures will be easier to identify because they will cause the overall TCG TPM Integration Test to fail.

Reminder: Boot Start Drivers Must Be Embedded-Signed for x86 and x64

As of June 1, 2007, all boot start drivers for x86 and x64 versions of Windows Vista must be embedded-signed before being submitted to the Windows Quality Online Services (Winqual) Web site. The requirement for embedded-signing for boot start is defined in the Windows Logo Program DEVFUND-0002 requirement for devices, as well as in the SYSFUND-0002 and SYSFUND-0122 for Windows Vista systems, and in SYSFUND-0054 and SYSFUND-0122 requirements for Windows Server 2008 systems.

Embedded-signing must be done through self-signing by using a software publishing certificate (SPC), and must be completed before the package is submitted to Winqual. For information about how to prepare embedded-signing for boot start drivers, see the "Kernel-Mode Code Signing Walkthrough" white paper at http://www.microsoft.com/whdc/winlogo/drvsign/kmcs_walkthrough.mspx.
