This paper provides information about incorporating Window Color System (WCS) support in both Microsoft version 3 and XPSDrv print drivers for the Windows Vista operating system. It provides prescriptive information for independent hardware vendors (IHVs) to develop WCS-enabled print drivers for Universal (Unidrv), PostScript (PScript), monolithic, and XPSDrv print drivers. It also provides guidelines for independent software vendors (ISVs) to control color management functions that are exposed by print drivers.

IHVs that have existing printers or are developing new printers can use this paper to help plan their implementation of WCS support in new and existing print drivers.

This information applies for the following operating systems:
Windows Server 2008
Windows Vista
