What's required to submit a product?

For products to be eligible for submitting, you must:

  • Be a representative of the software publisher or device manufacturer.

  • Know the current or future support plan on Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 for the product you are submitting.

  • Provide complete information we can verify. (Please use your corporate e-mail address for the validation process.)

Will all products get listed on the Windows 7 Compatibility Center or the Windows Server Catalog?

No. All product submissions must be verified by Microsoft before getting listed. Note that devices and applications are not required to earn the "Compatible with Windows 7" Logo to get listed in the Compatibility Center. However, Server hardware products must complete the Windows Server Logo Program requirements to get listed in the Windows Server Catalog.

Do our products have to pass the Windows 7 Logo requirements to get listed in the Compatibility Center?

No. With millions of consumers and businesses planning to upgrade to Windows 7, your support plans for all products will help our mutual customers know how to upgrade. For products that you do not test in the Windows 7 Logo Program, use the Product submission form to get listed in the Windows 7 Compatibility Center.

After I submit my information, how soon will it be published on the Microsoft website?

The Compatibility Center will be updated frequently, but depending on the date of submission and the verification process, your product may take up to three weeks to get listed. If you have any questions about your submission, please contact us.

My product is not yet compatible. Can I still get listed in the Compatibility Center or the Server Catalog?

Yes. When choosing compatibility status, select "Future support date" and indicate the month and year you plan to offer a Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 compatible product.

What if I need to change, update, or cancel my submission?

You can update your product status by re-entering your information using the Windows Compatibility Center product submission form. Please use the same product name so we can map it to your previous submission. If you would like to contact us directly, please e-mail us with information that identifies your submission.

Can I send my product submissions in bulk?

Yes, we can accept multiple product submissions in bulk. Please download the Excel template, fill in completely, and send by e-mail to us at wccprtnr@microsoft.com.

Why is it important to get my product listed even if it is not compatible?

With millions of consumers and businesses planning to upgrade to Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2, your support plans will help our mutual customers know how to upgrade.

What happens if the support date I submit expires and I do not update my information?

If you do not update your submission prior to your expected support date, your product will be removed from the Windows 7 Compatibility Center or the Windows Server Catalog. You will receive a single e-mail notification reminding you to resubmit your compatibility information using the Compatibility Center product submission form. Regardless, you may contact us or resubmit your information at anytime.

We intend to achieve the Windows Logo. Do I need to resubmit our information?

No. If your application or device achieves the Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 Logo qualifications, you will not need to resubmit your information. Microsoft will automatically list your product in the Windows 7 Compatibility Center or the Windows Server Catalog.

What tools and resources are available to get compatible?

Microsoft provides hardware and software partners with free development toolkits and support resources. Application developers can start at Windows Developer Center and hardware developers can start at Windows Hardware Developer Central.

Can I submit product photos?

The submission form allows you to add a URL where we can find your product's image. Alternatively, you can send your photos directly to wccprtnr@microsoft.com following these guidelines.

  • File name should be VendorName_ProductName

  • File size must be less than 45 KB

  • File format should be JPEG
