Use an Accelerator from a major search service to do in place web searches on any text from any page. Just select the text you want to learn more about, choose the search Accelerator you want to use, and get your search results instantly.

Mapping

How many times have you copied the address from a website and then walked through the steps of a mapping service to find out where that business is located? With Accelerators in Internet Explorer 8 you can highlight an address on any page and instantly see a preview from your favorite map provider.

Word definition

Reading a webpage and want to look for the definition of a word? Simply highlight the word, select your preferred dictionary service, and see the definition pop up without leaving the page.

Emailing

Found text or images on a webpage you would like to share with friends or family? Previously you needed to highlight this text, copy it to the clipboard, paste it into an email, save the image, and then attach the image file to your message, all after logging into your email account and creating a new message. Using an Accelerator, just choose the content you wish to send, select your email account, and all of that work is done for you.

Translation

Reading a page that features content from another language? Simply highlight the sentences you'd like to translate, click on the Accelerator pop-up button, and select your preferred translation service. You will then see an instant language translation of the text you selected with no additional navigation required.
