Windows Media Center Extender Update

A Windows Media Center Extender update is available as part of Windows Vista Service Pack 1. This update contains changes that enable new types of Windows Media Center Extenders, such as digital televisions and networked DVD players, to connect to the Windows Media Center PC. To download Windows Vista Service Pack 1, follow the below instructions:

  1. Click Start Start button, click All Programs, and then click Windows Update.

  2. In the navigation pane, click Check for updates.

  3. After Windows Update has finished checking for updates, click View available updates.

  4. Enable the check boxes for the updates that you want to install, and then click Install.

  5. Security icon If you are prompted for an administrator password or for confirmation, type the password, or provide confirmation.

Note: This update is optional for Xbox 360 users who do not have other Media Center Extender devices.
