Your photos and home videos are part of a dynamic, growing collection of your digital memories. Windows Media Center is the one place where you can enjoy all of your digital media on your PC. By adding an Extender for Windows Media Center, you can even share those memories with the most important people in your life on the most impressive screen in your house: your television.
Make your own entertainment — Take advantage of your camera and video equipment capabilities and show off your photos and home videos in rich, vivid detail. Get visual memories at your fingertips — Easily access your Windows Vista PC’s complete photo and video library on your TV screen, using an optional remote control. Quickly find what you want — Search by folder, the date the photo was taken, or Tags. Get creative — Design professional looking slide shows with ease. Set photos to your favorite music. Access it all with one click.

Windows Photo Gallery introduces a new way to organize your photos: Tags. Use a Tag to label an individual photo or a collection of photos and then view it with Windows Media Center by that Tag or label. Let's say you have a collection of wildlife pictures taken over the years that's stored in a variety of folders on your PC. Once tagged in Windows Photo Gallery as "Wildlife" pictures, you can use your remote control to navigate to the whole Wildlife collection, and you can see all of those pictures, no matter where you are. The Picture Library in Windows Media Center not only helps you access your digital vacation photos from the comfort of your couch; it also enables easy navigation and highlighting, so you can select the exact photo you want to display. Finding your favorite photos is easy with the thumbnail views. Click to expand. Windows Media Center makes photo viewing fun with stylish photo slide shows. Using the built-in slide show feature, Windows Media Center lets you automatically add dramatic cinematic effects, such as fades, pans, and zooms, to really bring your memories to life. Because all of your pictures can be shown in the highest resolution your TV supports, they will really "pop" on your high-definition screen. Finally, if your friends and family really love one of your slide show creations, you can burn it to a video DVD that also contains your pictures and music.
With the Videos Library, all of your video memories can be found in one convenient place. You'll notice that Windows Media Center can actually look inside each video, find a representative shot, and use that shot as the video’s thumbnail, making it easier for you to locate what you want, effortlessly. | | | | You may already have Windows Media Center: Click Start.
