Using Windows SteadyState

Here is the main dialog box from which you control all the features of Windows SteadyState.

Setting or OptionDescription

1. Set Computer Restrictions

Set global privacy options, security restrictions, and other settings for the entire shared computer.

2. Schedule Software Updates

Schedule software and antivirus updates, and add custom scripts.

3. Protect the Hard Disk

Turn Windows Disk Protection on or off, and set protection levels for the system drive.

4. User Profiles

Configure feature restrictions and program blocking for each user, lock or unlock user profiles, and change passwords, pictures, and timers.

5. Add a New User

Create a new user name with password and picture, and control where the profile is stored.

6. Export User

Save a user profile so it can be added to another Windows SteadyState shared computer.

7. Import User

Add a user profile exported from another Windows SteadyState shared computer.
