This update to IOS.VXD address two issues. The first is when reading data from a Video CD disc in an IDE CD-ROM drive which is configured as a slave device on an IDE channel (with another IDE device as master) and using Windows 95 protected-mode drivers, the transfer rate becomes extremely slow.
The second issue addressed is a fatal exception error will occur in IOS.VXD if a SCSI printer is connected and online when Windows 95 starts.
NOTE: This update is should only be install on Windows 95 version 4.00.950 or 4.00.950A. This update should not be installed on systems that are version 4.00.950B or greater. You can determine the version of your system by clicking on the Start button, selecting Settings, then Control Panel and double clicking on the System icon.
This update is useful because it allows data on a Video CD to be read without the transfer rate dropping and it allows users of SCSI printers to boot their machines with the SCSI printer connected.
This update is useful for anyone who has an IDE CD ROM drive configured as a slave device with another IDE device configured as master and uses Video CD disks in that driver or for anyone who uses a SCSI printer.
