Editing photos in Windows Media Center

You can select and edit individual pictures from the picture library. If you make any of the following changes, you change the original picture file, not just how it displays in Windows Media Center.

To rotate a picture
  1. On the start screen, scroll to Pictures + Videos, and then click picture library.

  2. Navigate to the picture you want to rotate, right-click the picture, and then click Picture Details

  3. To rotate the picture clockwise 90 degrees, click Rotate If you click the picture more than once, the picture rotates 90 degrees clockwise every time you click Rotate

To print a picture
  1. On the start screen, scroll to Pictures + Videos, and then click picture library.

  2. Navigate to the picture you want to print, right-click the picture, and then click Picture Details

  3. To print the picture, click Print

To fix red eye
  1. On the start screen, scroll to Pictures + Videos, and then click picture library

  2. Navigate to the picture you want to edit, right-click the picture, and then click Picture Details

  3. To fix red eye, click Touch Up, click Red Eye, and then click Save

To adjust the contrast
  1. On the start screen, scroll to Pictures + Videos, and then click picture library

  2. Navigate to the picture you want to edit, right-click the picture, and then click Picture Details

  3. To adjust the contrast, click Touch Up, click Contrast, and then click Save

To crop the picture
  1. On the start screen, scroll to Pictures + Videos, and then click picture library

  2. Navigate to the picture you want to edit, right-click the picture, and then click Picture Details

  3. To crop the picture, click Touch Up, and then click Crop

  4. Click a button to adjust the location, size, and orientation of the cropping.

  5. Once you have finished adjusting the cropping, click Save

To delete the picture from your computer
  1. On the start screen, scroll to Pictures + Videos, and then click picture library

  2. Navigate to the picture you want to delete, right-click the picture, and then click Delete.

  3. Click Yes to confirm that you want to delete the picture from your computer.

To zoom in on a picture

It is not possible to zoom in when you are viewing a slide show.

  1. On the start screen, scroll to Pictures + Videos, and then click picture library

  2. Navigate to the picture that you want to zoom in on.

  3. Press ENTER, and then press ENTER again

  4. Press BACKSPACE to return to the previous screen.

To edit a picture while watching a picture slide show
  1. On the start screen, scroll to Pictures + Videos, and then click picture library

  2. Locate and click a picture in the picture library so the picture appears full screen.

  3. When the picture appears full screen, right-click, and then click Picture Details

  4. Make the change that you want to make to the picture.

  5. To resume playing a slide show, click Play Slide Show.
