To edit a property in the property cache

1. Open Computer Management
2. In the console tree, under the appropriate catalog, click Properties.

   Where?

   • Computer Management
   • Services and Applications
   • Indexing Service
   • catalog
   • Properties
3. In the details pane, in the Property Set column, click the property ID of the property you want to edit.
4. On the Action menu, click Properties.
5. In the dialog box that appears, make the changes you want.

 Important

• Making changes to the property cache can have a substantial impact on performance.

 Note

• To open Computer Management, click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel. Double-click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Computer Management.
• You can also open the Properties dialog box by double-clicking the property ID.
• The changes take effect the next time you start Indexing Service.
