To create a site
- Open Active Directory Sites and Services
- Right-click the Sites folder, and then click New Site.
- In Name, type the name of the new site
- Click a site link object, and then click OK.
- Associate a subnet with a site for this newly created site. See Related Topics for information.
- Move a domain controller from an existing site into this new site, or install a new domain controller. See Related Topics for information.
- If you want to choose a specific licensing computer, other than the one automatically selected, select another licensing computer. See Related Topics for information.
- Delegate control of the site. See Related Topics for information.
Note
- To open Active Directory Sites and Services, click Start, point to Programs, point to Administrative Tools, and then click Active Directory Sites and Services.
- Active Directory Sites and Services can only be used from a computer that has access to a Windows 2000 domain. Active Directory Sites and Services is installed on all Windows 2000 domain controllers. To use Active Directory Sites and Services on a computer that is not a domain controller, such as one running Windows 2000 Professional, install the Windows 2000 Administration Tools.
