Multilingual User Interface (MUI) Packs for Windows Media Player
The Multilingual User Interface (MUI) Packs for Windows Media Player enable customers that have deployed the Windows XP MUI Pack to switch the user interface (menus, dialog boxes and Help files) of the Player from one language to another. The MUI Packs for Windows Media Player 11 and Windows Media Player 10 support the Windows XP MUI Pack; the MUI Pack for Windows Media Player 9 Series supports both the Windows XP MUI Pack and the Windows 2000 MultiLanguage Version of the Multilingual User Interface.

Overview

Multilingual computing is supported on both Windows XP and Windows 2000 through the Windows XP MUI Pack and the Windows 2000 MultiLanguage Version, respectively. These add-ons enable users or administrators to switch the user interface (menus, dialog boxes and Help files) from one language to another. The interface packs add language resources to the base operating system without modifying any core system binaries. This greatly eases desktop administration in multilingual computing environments, and considerably lowers the cost of desktop change and configuration management.

Multinational organizations deploying Windows Media Player can take advantage of this functionality by deploying one of the MUI Packs for the Player. The Windows Media Player MUI Pack is available for download for 25 non-English languages. Individual language versions of the MUI Pack are available for download, and users can enable the specific target-language version of the language pack.
