Windows Media Technical Resources for the Enterprise
These resources can assist you in planning and deploying Windows Media 9 Series within your organization.
The Enterprise Deployment Pack (EDP) for Windows Media Player is a downloadable packaging
tool that makes it easy for network and desktop administrators to centrally configure, deploy, and manage Windows Media Player 9 Series or Windows Media Player 10 enterprise-wide. The EDP is designed to meet the needs
of IT staff in large organizations, who configure and distribute Windows Media Player to the desktop.
The Multilingual User Interface (MUI) Pack for Windows Media Player enables customers that have deployed the Windows XP MUI Pack to switch the user interface (menus, dialog boxes and Help files) for Windows Media Player 9 Series or Windows Media Player 10 from one language to another. The MUI Pack for Windows Media Player 9 Series also supports the Windows 2000 MultiLanguage Version of the Multilingual User Interface.
This Video Compression Manager (VCM) based version of the Windows Media Video 9 encoder/decoder will enable Enterprise customers to play Windows Media Video 9 content in the Windows Media Player 6.4. The Windows Media Video 9 VCM codec will download and install automatically the first time a user attempts to play Windows Media Video 9 content with the 6.4 Player. If the client does not have access to the Internet or if the user does not have administrative privileges on the client machine, Windows Media Video 9 VCM can be installed by IT using the VCM installation file, available online from the Windows Media Codec Installation Package download page. New Windows Media Codecs Installation Packages scheduled for availability in the Fall of 2003 will include Windows Media Video 9 VCM.
