View a Video, DVD, or Visualization Using the Full Screen February 2005
When a video, TV show, or DVD movie is playing or paused in full mode (the default view) or skin mode, you can switch to viewing the content on the entire computer screen. You can also switch to the full screen when you are viewing a visualization.
To view a video, TV show, or DVD movie using the full screenIn Windows Media Player, begin playing a video, TV show, or DVD movie. Click the View full screen button  . - or - Press ALT+ENTER. To adjust how the content is playing, use the playback controls at the bottom of the screen. If you are unable to see the playback controls, move your mouse or press any key. To prevent the playback controls from disappearing when you are viewing content on the full screen, click the Always show full-screen controls button  . To return the Player to full mode, press ESC. To view a visualization using the full screenIn Windows Media Player, begin viewing a visualization. Click the View full screen button  . - or - Press ALT+ENTER. When you view a visualization on the full screen, no playback controls are available. To return the Player to full mode, press ESC.
Troubleshooting the full-screen viewIf you cannot view a video, DVD, or visualization using the full screen, your video hardware may not have sufficient memory. One possible solution is to adjust the full-screen settings in the Player. Also, be aware that not all visualizations can be viewed on the full screen.
To adjust the full-screen settingsIn Windows Media Player, click the Access application menus button  on the title bar next to the Minimize button, point to Tools, and then click Options. Click the Performance tab. Click Advanced, and in the Video Acceleration area, select the Enable full-screen mode switch check box, as shown in the following screen shot.
