Organize Your Digital Media Collection

February 2005

There are some tasks that you can perform in a number of different ways when working with the Library feature in Windows Media Player 10. For example, you can play a file from the Play menu or by clicking the Play button in the playback controls. However, one of the fastest ways you can accomplish many tasks is by using the shortcut menu.

To use a shortcut menu command in the library
  1. In Windows Media Player, click Library.
  2. Right-click a file, playlist, or category, as shown in the following screen shot.

  3. Click a command. The shortcut menu displays only those commands in the following table that apply to the item you click.
    ClickTo

Play the item. If the item is a playlist or category, the command plays all of the files in the playlist or category. If the item is a file in a playlist, the command plays the playlist from that point.
