As a product vendor, content provider, or service provider, you can create and distribute products or services, such as custom encoding applications that incorporate Windows Media Encoder. No license fees or royalties apply.

Licensing Windows Media Encoder 9 Series for Distribution with a Product or ServiceIf you are a product vendor, content provider, or service provider, and you want to distribute Windows Media Encoder 9 Series with a product or service, complete these steps:Submit a "Windows Media Encoder 9 Series Distribution Agreement." To do so, complete the Microsoft License Request Form. Under Select License to Request, click WM Encoder 9s Windows Distribution Agreement. - To display the appropriate Windows Media logo, do the following:
To determine which logo you need, see Windows Media Logo Programs. Under the "Windows Media Encoder 9 Series Distribution Agreement," you will be qualified for the Windows Media Compatible logo for creation and editing software. To submit a logo licensing request, complete a second Microsoft License Request Form. Under Select License to Request, click WM Logo Agreement (Plays, Compatible and/or HDCD).
