Interim Products are not sold to consumers and require no royalty payments.
To create Windows Media-based Interim Products, complete these steps:Submit the Windows Media Components Interim Product Agreement for the Windows Media technology that you will port. To complete the Microsoft License Request Form, under Select License to Request, click WM Components (Interim and Final) Application. If you want to use the Windows Media logo (optional), complete a second Microsoft License Request Form. Under Select License to Request, click WM Logo Agreement (Plays, Compatible and/or HDCD). After you complete the license request form for Windows Media technologies, Microsoft will send you an e-mail message that contains a license application form. Complete this form and return it to Microsoft. Microsoft will create a draft of the license agreement using the information that you provide, and then send you the draft. Review this draft for accuracy and report any errors to Microsoft. After accepting the draft agreement, Microsoft will send you executable original license agreements for your signature. You should receive these agreements within five business days. Sign and return these original license agreements. After Microsoft receives your signed copies and finalizes the agreement, Microsoft will send you an invoice. Upon payment you will receive download instructions. Follow these instructions to download your Windows Media deliverables. Note There is a license fee for each Windows Media technology that you port. This fee varies based on the technologies that you choose to license. For more information about license fees and royalties, see Windows Media Licensing Fees and Royalties.
