Windows Media Player 9 Series System Requirements

The following hardware and software are required to use Windows Media Player 9 Series. Note that Windows Media Player 9 Series for Windows XP is no longer available. Review a list of available Player versions for Windows XP.

Optical drive CD or DVD drive (DVD playback requires compatible DVD decoder software) CD-R or CD-RW drive

Sound card 16-bit sound card Compatible 5.1 multichannel audio sound card (for example, Creative Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 or Sound Blaster Audigy; Echo Audio Layla24 or Mona; or M-Audio Delta 1010, Delta 1010-LT, or Delta 410).
Video adapter and monitor Super VGA (800 x 600) or higher resolution Same as minimum configuration
