Serving approximately 350,000 residents and millions of tourists annually, Orleans Parish Communication District (OPCD) handles more than one million 911 calls each year. OPCS wanted to improve efficiency and response time and quality by automating the flow of information between multiple agencies.

OPCD implemented a Motorola Solutions integrated call control system based on Microsoft technology including embedded versions of Windows Server and SQL Server that connects disparate police, fire department and emergency medical services systems.
