1. What types of updates can I get?

WEDU provides notification, download and installation for updates available from Microsoft. These updates are limited to design, develop, test and demonstrate (non-production environment). Updates via WEDU do not confer any additional rights beyond the existing embedded toolkit EULA or any additional EULA that may be presented as the software is downloaded.

Note: In order to ship commercial products using Windows Embedded, additional steps are required. Contact a Windows Embedded authorized distributor to find out more.

2. Are there updates I can get from Microsoft that will not be available via WEDU?

WEDU provides updates for the development environments only; WEDU will not update images or devices directly. There may be updates available not applicable to the development environments.

3. If I don’t use WEDU, where can I get updates?

Updates for Windows Embedded Standard 7 SP1 have been and will continue to be available from a variety of sources dependent on your license.

4. Does WEDU provide updates for 3rd party content?

WEDU supports Microsoft Embedded product updates and content reviewed and digitally signed by Microsoft. At this time there will be no updates through WEDU that does not meet those criteria.
