This document contains important information about Windows Embedded 8 Standard (Standard 8).

To activate Standard 8, you must first download a product key from the welcome page on WindowsEmbedded.com.

-Embedded Lockdown Manager (ELM)

Issue: Unified Write Filter (UWF) is not configurable in Embedded Lockdown Manager (ELM) when UWF is disabled.

Workaround: In ELM, enable UWF on your device before configuring it. Alternatively, you can use the WMI providers to configure UWF without enabling UWF.
