The Russian book devoted to Windows Embedded CE, written by Quarta Technologies specialist Stas Pavlov and Pavel Belevsky, was published in English by Microsoft Press. “Windows Embedded CE 6.0 Fundamentals“ is intended for those just learning about the Windows Embedded CE operating system, as a starting point for further learning.

Ardence Embedded software from Citrix Systems, Inc. has been acquired by a new Embedded software company, IntervalZero Inc., which is led by a group of senior Ardence executives including CEO Jeffrey D. Hibbard who has over 20 years of experience in the industry. IntervalZero will continue to market and sell the Embedded products under existing product names – RTX, ETS and Select. IntervalZero plans to retain all Embedded/Distribution and Reseller channels and relationships – notably the strong Partner relationships with Microsoft and Intel.

BSQUARE demonstrated Microsoft Windows Embedded CE 6.0 running on the Texas Instruments’ OMAP3 EVM platform at Wireless Japan, July 23-24, in Tokyo. Featuring a rich user interface based on Adobe’s Flash Lite, the demo showcased the personal navigation device capabilities of CE.

Intrinsyc signed a multi-year agreement to promote cross-sales of Intrinsyc navigation software and NAVTEQ® map data. Device makers now have a single source for NAVTEQ digital maps; Destinator navigation software; the Soleus wireless handheld development software platform; and Intrinsyc’s wireless engineering services, including systems integration, BSPs, and power management.

Intrinsyc completed the acquisition of Destinator Technologies Inc., a multinational developer of wireless software for GPS devices and navigation software for wireless handsets. Customers include tier-one OEMs Motorola and LG. Intrinsyc now has approximately 375 employees, with the majority in engineering and development, including a low-cost development center in Beijing.
