Intrinsyc announced software solutions supporting Microsoft Corp.’s latest release of the Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R2 operating system. Intrinsyc’s software solutions and Soleus software platform make it even easier and more cost-effective for manufacturers to develop connected wireless devices based on the new Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R2 release.
The Windows Embedded CE-based Soleus mobile handset platform is being bundled with the silicon provider’s chips to provide a full high-level operating system (HLOS) solution. The Soleus-bundled chipsets are aimed at a variety of handset designers, enabling design manufacturers to achieve greater speed and flexibility in consumer multimedia wireless handset development.
Quanta Computer, the world’s largest notebook computer original design manufacturer, has licensed the Windows Embedded CE-based Soleus mobile handset platform. Quanta is using Soleus to develop a Third Generation (3G)/High-Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA) mobile device, expected to be a breakthrough in the design concept and user experience of today’s wireless communications electronics.
PHYTEC announces the full compatibility of PHYTEC Rapid Development Kit hardware with the new 6.0 R2 version of Microsoft’s Windows Embedded operating system.
In collaboration with Avnet, Microsoft and Phytec, Adeneo will deliver on February 25th in Mountain View, CA a free Workshop on Windows Embedded CE 6.0. This workshop gives an overview of Windows Embedded CE architecture and tools, covering how to create a CE 6.0 image, develop a driver and implement C++ and C# applications. Ardence, a Citrix company, announces the latest release of RTX 8.1, the real-time extension for Microsoft Windows Operating Systems. RTX now features shared MP support for Windows Vista, as well as Message signal Interrupt (MSI/MSI-X) capabilities, along with numerous RT-TCP/IP enhancements.

With a long and successful career in Windows Embedded CE system integration Claus is recognised as an expert within the industry. Using the Intel IPP library on the INtime real-time OS allows developers to quickly and easily leverage Intel’s powerful SSE (Streaming SIMD Extensions) processor instructions for image processing, vector arithmetic, and other signal processing functions on a deterministic platform.

After a year-long testing on multiple platforms by selected customers, PROJECT decided to make its PXA270 BSP available as a maintained product. The BSP is designed for simple and easy porting to different hardware platforms, keeping a single code base for enhanced reliability.
Above-Net has just announced an updated version of their Top100M handheld PC terminal. New features include improved RFID functionality, a new embedded GPS option, two keyboard options and expandable memory options up to 2 GB.
