Windows Embedded Kitting Program

In the Windows Embedded Evaluation Hardware Kitting Program, qualified board vendors can redistribute Windows Embedded evaluation toolkits for Windows Embedded CE, Windows Embedded Standard, and/or Windows Embedded POSReady. These evaluation toolkits include the operating system images on the participating board vendors’ platforms at no cost.

Benefits

Improve time to market for original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and application developers.
Reduce support costs for board vendors by allowing them to deliver a more complete solution, which includes a Windows Embedded evaluation toolkit and operating system runtime with their platforms.
Include Windows Embedded evaluation toolkits and operating system runtimes on up to 1,000 of each of their qualifying evaluation hardware platforms per year.

Requirements

The Windows Embedded Evaluation Hardware Kitting Program is open to any member of the Windows Embedded Partner Program (WEPP) who is producing and distributing evaluation hardware platforms running a Windows Embedded operating system. Hardware platforms used in the program must meet the following requirements:

Use a CPU supported by the relevant operating system.
- For a list of defined CPUs, see Windows Embedded CE Supported Processors or Windows Embedded Standard System Requirements.
  - For a Point of Service terminal running Windows Embedded POSReady, the CPU must be configured with a minimum 233 MHz, 64 MB RAM, and 520 MB free disk space. For more information on system requirements see Windows Embedded POSReady System Requirements.
Distribute for evaluation and development purposes only.
