Cash Systems Mobile device leverages power systems to improve battery life

Cash Systems Mobile Device

Cash Systemes Industrie recently introduced P.D.A. CSI, a point-of-service terminal that sits in the palm of your hand. Running Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R3, the device features fast Wi-Fi connections and innovations like contactless waiter identification through RFID, automatic screen orientation and sophisticated power management.

The embedded Operating system inside P.D.A. CSI had to support important device requirements, including power management for long battery life; compatibility with legacy applications; and high capacity removable storage. Windows Embedded CE 6.0 R3 was the best choice for these functionalities and the Windows Embedded ecosystem helped CSI to solve technical issues.

"The Windows Embeddedd CE 6.0 R3 OS allowed us to implement a very sophisticated power management system that really differentiates this device".

Thierry Joubert, CTO

The technical capabilities of the device even created new business opportunities for CSI in other domains than hospitality point-of-service; Windows Embedded CE opened up new markets in stock management, inventory control, maintenance management and quality control. With P.D.A. CSI pencil and order pads will soon become relics of the past, allowing both a better efficiency in customer service and savings in paper and energy.
