Drive Assist cuts out paper process with TaskMaster

Drive Assist

Rapid growth at UK credit-hire car service Drive Assist left the company needing a mobile solution to manage the tens of thousands of paper forms it processed every month. Rising demands of business expansion meant paper forms were found to be increasingly time-consuming and labour-intensive.

Drive Assist deployed Microsoft® Windows Mobile devices (now Windows Embedded Handheld) operating TBS Enterprise Mobility’s TaskMaster solution to its 500 drivers.

Today drivers use TaskMaster to quickly locate customers using integrated ALK CoPilot satellite navigation technology. It also enables them to receive jobs in the field and input information from inspections directly onto a device, making paper forms a thing of the past. The electronic information is then delivered in real time to the organisation’s back-end office system.

Saving paper and fuel

A processing burden of over 120,000 paper forms a month has been eliminated by the TBS solution and drivers are now able to optimise their routes and conserve fuel, helping to meet environmental targets.

Move-on deliveries – where drivers collect a vehicle and deliver it directly to the next customer – have increased from one per cent of the business to 25 per cent of the business, freeing up 2,000 vehicles for new business. In time Drive Assist expects this figure to increase to 75 per cent.

"We now offer a more dynamic service to our business providers. The TaskMaster solution has made us leaner and ensures that we can operate a two-hour delivery service right across the U.K.".
