Warrington Borough Council Goes Green with Thinspace Thin Clients

As part of an ambitious project to cut IT operational costs, reduce energy consumption and improve service efficiency, Warrington Borough Council is making radical changes to the way it delivers services, using cutting edge technologies.

Amongst the key technologies are the Thinspace TST600H thin clients, bundled with the latest Windows Embedded Standard 7. Such combination of front end solutions has enabled the Council to implement a Unified Communications strategy, delivering long-term benefits as follows:

  • Less energy consumption, less carbon emission, and less electronic waste
  • More efficient IT focusing on mission critical tasks
  • Improved productivity through better access to information and resource sharing
  • Reduced security threats and better protection of data

"Warrington prides itself on the use of cost effective leading edge technologies to deliver excellent public service, achieve high staff productivity and work within budgets. We expect the project to generate significant cost savings, reduce carbon emission while expediting real improvements in council processes".

Andy Farrall
Director of Environment and Regeneration
Warrington Borough Council.
