Identifying your Windows Mobile device

Let’s take a look at what Windows Mobile version you have in your hand. It’s important to know the mobile operating system version because setup for some tasks may differ slightly depending on the type of mobile phone and mobile operating system you’re using.

First, do you have a touch screen or non-touch screen device?

Next, which Windows Mobile operating system do you have?

If you have a touch screen device:
  • First, tap Start, and then tap Settings.

  • Next, tap the System tab, and then tap About.

  • You’ll find your Windows Mobile version number here.

If you have a non-touch screen device:
  • Click Start, and then click the Settings icon.
