Identify your Windows phone

It’s important to know the version of your Windows phone because features and procedures may differ between versions.

To discover which version phone you have, follow the directions for either touch or non-touch phones.

If you have a touch screen phone:

  • Tap Start, tap Settings, tap System, and then tap About.

    Note  System may appear as a tab at the bottom of your screen.
  • The first line displays the name and version of your Windows phone.

If you have a non-touch screen phone:

  • Tap Start, tap Settings, and then tap About.

    Notes
    • If you do not see Settings, tap All Programs, and then scroll the list of programs to find Settings.
    • If you do not see About on the Settings screen, tap More to display additional settings.
  • The first line displays the name and version of your Windows phone.
