How to download, transfer and install files using Windows Vista and Windows Mobile Phone Center |
| First, within your browser, select the appropriate file for your phone. On the following page, review the license agreement, then click Accept and Download. (Learn how to identify your phone here.) Note: Though MSNBC is used as an example here, these instructions apply to all files. In the File Download window that appears on your computer, click Save. In the next window, select Desktop (or a folder of your choice), and click Save. The file should now download to your computer. To transfer the file to your phone, connect your phone to your computer. Once connected, Windows Mobile Phone Center will open automatically on your computer.Click File Management > Browse the Contents of Your Phone. Select either the hard drive or storage card on your phone. Drag the downloaded file from your desktop to the My Documents folder on your phone. The file is now on your phone.

Now that the file is on your phone, simply install the file as follows. | | On a non-touch screen Windows Mobile phone, press Start. On a touch screen phone, press Start > Programs from the dropdown menu. Find and select File Manager (or File Explorer in Windows Mobile 5.0). Open My Documents, then choose your new file from the list. (In this case, MSNBC Mobile.) You can choose to install on either your phone or a storage card. Now press Install, and the file will automatically begin installing. Press Done. Congratulations! Your file is now installed and ready to use.
