Sygate Personal Firewall

Use the following steps to allow ActiveSync ports in the Sygate Personal Firewall application.
  • Start the Sygate Personal Firewall application.

  • In the main menu, click on Tools > Advanced Rules…

  • An Advanced Rules popup will be shown. Click Add.

  • An Advanced Rules Settings window will pop up. Please enter a rule description.

    The following fields should be set as follows:

    Action = Allow this traffic
    Advanced Settings = All network interface cards
    Apply this rule during Screensaver Mode = Both on and off

    Leave the rest as-is.

  • Leave the Hosts tab unchanged.

  • Be sure that the Protocol dropdown is set to ALL in the Ports and Protocols tab.

  • In the Applications tab, click Browse… to add new applications to this list.

  • With the browse window, navigate to the ActiveSync install folder.
    This is C:\Program Files\Microsoft ActiveSync\ if ActiveSync was installed in the C drive using the default folder.

    Add the following .exe files (Note: you will need to click on browse more than once):

    wcescomm.exe
    WCESMgr.exe
    rapimgr.exe
    CEAPPMGR.exe

  • After adding the application .exe files in the previous step, make sure that they appear checked in the Applications tab as shown.

    Click OK when done.

  • After adding the new Advanced Rule, make sure the rule appears checked in the Advanced Rules window.

    Click Add again.

  • Enter similar information as described in Step 4 but with a different Description.

    Set Action = Allow this traffic.

  • In the Ports and Protocols tab, make sure the following are set:

    Protocol = TCP
    Remote = 26675
    Local = 26675

    Click OK several times until you hit the main Window.
